Jennifer Ann (“Jennie”) Hilton died Saturday, May 23 in her home in Dallas.  Jennie was born October 11, 1952, the daughter of Mary Ann and Wilburn D. Hilton, Sr.  Her maternal grandparents, the Collins and Carsey families, were residents of Greenville from the 1800s.

Jennie was a graduate of Greenville High School and the University of Texas at Dallas.  She was a member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church where she worked in outreach and evangelism.  Previously, she had been the director of volunteers for the Perot Natural Science Museum in Dallas for the first three years of its existence.

Jennie’s strong calling in life was to serve others which continued throughout her illness.  Her most rewarding professional experience was also her greatest opportunity for service as manager of corporate and community engagement for Sharing Life, a nonprofit, benevolent organization whose primary goal is to come alongside individuals and families who need help obtaining the basic necessities of life.  There, Jennie had the opportunity to work with a wonderful staff and dedicated volunteers in the operation of the ministry while engaging the community to garner financial and volunteer support.  It was her perfect place to thrive.

Jennie is survived by her grandsons, Leighton Bowen of Dallas, Makenzie Bowen of Michigan and Obadiah Chambers of Williamsburg, KY; brother and sister-in-law, Dee and Mary Jean Hilton of Greenville; and nephews Robert Hilton of Heath, Martin Hilton of Longview and Dan Hilton of Charlotte, NC and their families.  The family is especially grateful to Paula McCormick, who was a very caring and loving friend during Jennie’s illness.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tiffany Chambers, her parents, Mary Ann and Wilburn Hilton, and a brother, William Collins Hilton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30 at 11:00 in the Worship Center of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville.  Please respect those attending by practicing distancing and wearing a facemask.  For those wishing to honor Jennie and serve those in need, please consider making a contribution to the work of Sharing Life; 3544 East Emporium Circle; Mesquite, Texas 75150.
