Jere Wayne Fowler was born on April 28, 1940, in Greenville, TX. He died on September 1, 2020, in Dallas. TX, at the age of 80. Jere was the son of Winton Thomas Fowler and Bessie Ozella Routh Fowler. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1958. Once out of high school, he joined the US Army and served two years as a military policeman. Later, he served as an officer on the Webster, TX, police department and then as a deputy sheriff in north Texas. His last 20 years he enjoyed working as a desk clerk at the Lamplighter Motel in Dallas. Jere is survived by his older brother, Wallace T. Fowler and family of Austin, TX, his son James W. Fowler, and his adopted grandson and best buddy, Dusty Moore. Jere was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed.
