Jewel Kathlene “Gam” Petty, 102, of Greenville, passed away on May 8, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.  The family will have a graveside service at Arbala Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020 with Dr. James Ralson and Rev. Samuel Glenn officiating.

Kathlene born on August 18, 1917 in Greenville, Texas to Lee Roy and Lillie Mae King Morrison.  She married Loyd Owen Petty on November 23, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.  She spent 73 years in the same house in Greenville where she worked as a homemaker. She kept active with numerous hobbies which included, scrapbooking, crafts, cooking, sewing, quilt making, reading and served as a Sunday School teacher at Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member.

She is survived by her daughters, Gela and Eddie Allgeier and Carolyn and Guy Smith; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Norma Jean Denison; grandson, Ed Allgeier, Jr. and granddaughter, Carla Jean Seward.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Peggy Johnston, John Paul Willabay, Robert Christy with Kindred Hospice and Dr. Dee G. McCrary and his nurses for the extra care they gave.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Angell, Tyler Brackeen, David Hull, Cody Hutchison, Mark Jennings, Jr., Josh Koontz, Ricky Meier and Steve Zielonka.
