Jill Margaret Barstow (Poeton) passed away, peacefully at home on January 1, 2021.
She was born January 11, 1938, in Bristol, England, to parents, George and Gladys Poeton. She was 82.
She met the love of her life, John Barstow, and married him December 12, 1959.

Prior to moving to America, Jill served as a nurse while her husband served in the Royal Air Force. Jill was an avid animal lover, working at vet clinics throughout the years. She would also board cats in her home, which brought her so much happiness. In the years prior to her retirement, Jill worked as a cafeteria monitor with Greenville ISD. She was called ‘Nanny’ by many, but was a proud grandmother who served at the school to be close to her grandchildren as they grew up. Jill retired from Greenville ISD in March of 2016. She left an imprint on the hearts of many students and faculty and was truly loved by many. In her final years, Jill was cared for by her eldest granddaughters, Lauren and J’Nay.

Jill had a kind, loving heart and would brighten up any room with her radiant smile. You would often hear her greet you with a “hello love.” This simple, sentimental greeting would brighten anyone’s day.

Jill is survived by her children, David and Kristi Barstow and Kelly Bullock of Greenville, and Steve and Jennifer Barstow of Plano; grandchildren, Lauren and J’Nay Barstow, Lindsay and Anthony Yost, Rachael and Addison Barstow, Tanner Dill, and Katelyn and Savanah Bullock; great grandchildren Connor and Hayden Yost, Kinslee Kemble; nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at Lynch Funeral Service. A private graveside service with close friends and family will be Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Lynch Memorial Park.
