Jody Stanford, 79, of McKinney, formerly of Greenville, passed away on August 15, 2020 in Princeton, Texas. A graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. Kelly Reagan officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Monday, August 17, 2020 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mr. Stanford was born October 18, 1940 in Greenville, Texas to J.W. Stanford and Ida Mae Wilson. He married Linda Dickey on June 16, 1962 in Greenville, Texas. He worked for Frito Lay as a Route Salesman for 30 years. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church and was a former Deacon of Park Street Baptist Church for several years where he was a Sunday School Teacher and RA Leader.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Stanford; sons, Jeff and wife, Kristi Stanford, Steve and Tracy Stanford and Joel and Jennifer Stanford; sisters, Barbara Little and Betty King; sister-in-law, Barbara Stanford; he was Papaw to his grandchildren, Taylor Fortner and husband, Christian, Kaitlyn Reed and husband, Robert, Ansley and Hudson Stanford and Tyler Stanford; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Tatum and Logan Fortner. He made it a point to always attend all of their activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Stanford; brothers-in-law, Gerald Little and Charles King; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and Arthur Hall.
