Joe Nathaniel Gregory “Grandpaw Overalls” peacefully passed away on May 11, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on July 15, 1940, in Caddo Mills, TX, to loving parents Matthew and Rose Marie Gregory.
Joe was a kind-hearted individual who cherished his time spent with friends, and sharing laughter over a cup of coffee with the guys at the Shell Station in Caddo Mills. Joe dedicated many years of his life to his profession as a welder, working for Lone Star Gas Company. His expertise and commitment were greatly valued by his colleagues and the community he served.
Joe is survived by his son, Bobby Gregory and wife Diane; daughter, Sharon Sweet and fiancé Steve Torres; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; cherished nieces; nephews; and a host of friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Gregory, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage; and son, Joey Gregory. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
A funeral service to honor Joe’s life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at 1:00 pm. Dr. Russell Rogers will preside over the service, and interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Joe will be remembered for his warm spirit, dedication to his craft, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of those he loved. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
