John Carl Daniel 45 of Greenville passed away on April 19, 2021.  He was born on June 2, 1975 in Waipahu, Hawaii.   He was the son of Larry and Donna (Short) Daniel.John proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1994 to 1997 and in the Reserves from 1997 to 2001. 

He owned and operated his own lawn care business called “Freedom Lawn Care.”    He enjoyed his work and was skilled at professionally manicuring his customer’s yards.  In his spare time, you could find him playing computer games, tinkering with vehicles and other gadgets, or even going fishing.  He had a heart for and empathy toward animals, especially rescue dogs who needed a loving home. A fun fact about John that he will be remembered for is that he absolutely loved to eat “mac n cheese.”   He was generous and giving of himself, always seeing the good in others and wanting to help people.  Most of all, John loved his family and the time he was able to spend with them.  He leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family and friends.

John is survived by his daughter Caitlin Daniel; sister, Alicia Daniel (Doug Kolkow); nephew, Ely Daniel; great nephew, Jasper Glen Daniel; great niece, Emilia Monzon-Daniel (due in September 2021); cousins, Angela Crick (Grady), Rhonda Downing, Suzanne Short, Amanda Henson; aunts, Patricia Cole (Ted), Louisa “Lisa” Williams; uncle, Samuel Davis; special pet dogs, “Nilla” and “Sandy”; along with a host of loving relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; uncles Ronny Short, Paul Davis; grandmother, Emily Mabel Applegate.

The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at LYNCH Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas. The Hunt County Honor Guard will perform military honors at 1:30 PM.
