John Jefferson Clark, II, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2020 in Lone Oak. A memorial service will be held at One Church, Caddo Mills, on Thursday October 1, 2020 at 2 pm; Pastor Ranse Moore officiating.

John was born April 25, 1951 in Athens, Georgia to John Jefferson Clark and Clara Pounds Clark. He married Karen Ihas in Kalamazoo, Michigan on June 6, 1970 and in 1976 they welcomed their son, John III, into their lives. He owned and operated Greenville Web Design and Greenville Handgun Training.

John was a wonderful, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid bicyclist and competition handgun shooter. He and his wife loved to travel around the United States; visiting many of the National Parks.

Since moving to Greenville, John was a Chamber Ambassador, President of the CASA for Hunt County Board and Director of the Cotton Patch Challenge for the Rotary Club of Greenville.  Everything he undertook, he did with a passion for excellence.  He loved the City of Greenville and all the friends he made here.

He took great joy in playing with his grandchildren; riding bikes, working with wood and tools or just Slip n Slide in the backyard. His son shared his passion for guns, and they spent many hours shooting together.

Above all John loved Jesus. A faithful pastor for 20 years, he continued to teach Sunday School and small groups throughout his life. He had a flair for acting and often would portray Biblical characters in teaching Sunday School

Always one to lighten the mood, he was a great joke teller. Many will remember his jokes and great way of connecting with people. His great sense of humor will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Clark of Greenville; son, John Jefferson, III and wife, Stephanie of McKinney; brother, Jay Clark of Marcellus, Michigan; sister, Kimberly Clark of Mattawan, Michigan; grandchildren, Cory Clark and Davion Clark.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CASA for Hunt County or Rotary Club of Greenville.
