Joy Nell Huddleston, 74 of Greenville, passed away on January 1, 2023, at her residence.
Mrs. Huddleston was born on January 27, 1948, in Magazine, Arkansas, to Fonzy Fink and Edith Thomas.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years David Huddleston; and son Scott Sandman and wife, Jenni. Joy leaves behind three grandchildren, Dakota, Bryce, and Grant whom she adored.
Joy worked for Quinlan ISD for over 35 years before retiring in 2013. She had a passion for learning, spreading the joy of reading, and being a mentor and confidant to countless students throughout her years as an educator.
Joy loved spending time outdoors with her family on their property, tending to her chickens, working in the garden, and taking care of all of the “critters” country living provided. She was a caring friend, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Joy was a strong, hardworking, giving woman, who even on life’s hardest days knew God had a purpose for her on Earth and she cherished each moment.
As she wished, Joy will be laid to rest next to her parents in Ellington Cemetery in Magazine, Arkansas. Coker Mathews Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
