Joyce Kay Hinds, 66, of Quinlan, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Ingram Funeral Home. Friends and family are welcome to a visitation prior to the service at 11:00 AM.
Joyce was born on October 15, 1954, to Julius William Vogel, Jr. and Patricia Marlene McAllister Vogel in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She and her family lived numerous places, including Germany for some time, but she truly grew up in Garland, Texas. She married the love of her life, the late Donald Wayne Hinds, on March 14, 1969, and became a military wife at just 15 years old. She adored him with her whole heart until his passing on October 7, 2015. Joyce worked as an engineer, but she had a heart for people. She enjoyed being a caretaker and she was known as a grandmother to everyone. She spent lots of her days crafting, making jewelry, painting and sewing, and she even had her own kiln to create ceramics. Joyce loved her family deeply, including her several cats and dogs.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Hinds; her parents, Julius William Vogel, Jr. and Patricia Marlene McAllister Vogel; her paternal grandparents, Julius William Vogel, Sr. and Dorothy Ann Vogel; and her maternal grandparents, Robert Daniel McAllister and Edna Jane McAllister.
Joyce is loved and will be missed by her children, Ricky Lee Hinds, Russell Wayne Hinds, Randy Don Hinds, and Janie Sue Delavega; her brothers, Douglas Marlin Vogel, and Robert William Vogel; her sister, Charlotte Ann Vogel; her grandchildren, Jerry Whitworth, Cody Whitworth, Wayne Anasogak, Justin Anasogak, and Steven Anasogak; numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and all of her precious pets.
