Joyce L. Luckey, 86 of Wolfe City, TX passed away on March 3, 2020. She was born on January 6, 1934 to Aaron and Mary Evans in Ladonia, TX. Joyce was a family woman, her family meant everything to her. She was of Christian faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City. Joyce enjoyed being involved in her community such as caring for others and taking meals and helping with household chores, she always made sure that everyone had something to eat. Joyce was also an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Joyce is survived by her children, Jerry Burns and his wife Vanessa, Nancy Burns and her fiancé Larry Wright, Alton Burns and his wife Robin; grandchildren, Angela Kelsey, Elisha Turney, Jennifer Arnold, Mitchell Gaston, and Chris Burns; Seven great grandchildren, including her namesake, Lainee Frances Joy Arnold; siblings, Geneva Freudenberg, Eva Bright, David Evans, numerous nieces and nephews, close friend, John Davis; her loving puppy “Pepper” who kept a watchful on her 24 hours a day, along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Earl Burns, and her second husband John R. Luckey.
The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date at Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
