Norma Juanell (Juanell) Ward, 99, passed away on January 25, 2025. She was born September 19, 1925 in Greenville, TX to Walter and Margie Buck. She grew up in and around Greenville, TX. and graduated from Bland High School. She married Raymond Lloyd Ward on December 10, 1944. The two of them had three children, Gary, Billy and Randy.

Juanell was an excellent seamstress and had a green thumb that would make any good horticulturalist blush with envy. She made all of the uniforms for the Greenville High School Band’s Flashes for many years, and was known to design and sew several evening gowns for some of Greenville’s best dressed Junior League members. She was also known to sew hundreds of Barbie and Cabbage Patch doll outfits.

She loved babies, and after her years of sewing for the public and working for Adkisson’s Florist she began her babysitting career. She helped raise two children from birth to adulthood while their mom’s worked. She was always on board for babysitting grandkids as well. Many great times were shared with her and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her and were touched by her many gifts and talents.

Juanell is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lloyd Ward, her son, Randy Lee Ward, and her son Gary Llloyd Ward.

She is survived by her son Billy Edward Ward and wife Elaine Ward of Weatherford, TX; daughter-in-law Amanda Ward of McKinney, TX; her grandchildren Randy Ward and wife Stephanie Ward of San Antonio, TX; Jennifer Assante of Frisco, TX; her great grandchildren Zachary Ward and wife Hailey Ward of Portland, Maine; Lydia Dunn of Denton, TX and Ruby Dunn of Frisco, TX.

Visitation will be at Peters Funeral home on Friday evening, January 31, from 6:00 -7:30Pm.

Funeral services will be at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville, TX on Saturday, February 1, at 1:00 PM followed immediately by interment at Forest Park Cemetery.
