Julie Lee (Barker) Kjer, 59, of Greenville, Texas passed away on January 25, 2023. She was born in Monroe, Louisiana on May 11, 1963 to Dewey Wayne Barker and Sarah Jane Miracle Barker.
Julie lived a well-rounded life. She graduated from Leonard High School in 1981 and earned her BS and MSW from Texas A&M Commerce. Julie was a licensed social worker and spent her professional career serving and helping people. She loved the Lord and as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, she was a member of Covenant Fellowship Church of Greenville, Texas. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed collecting anything and everything with roosters and sunflowers themes. She adored each and every one of her beloved furry pets. She had a beautiful and sweet spirit along with a servant’s heart.
Most of all, her family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved each family member deeply and cherished every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren.
Julie leaves lasting and wonderful memories for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents Dewey and Hazel Barker and Fussy and Nell Miracle, and her cousins Brian Williams, Nathan Williams, Cash Dollgener and cousin Huckston Williams; her uncle Billy Miracle.
She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Duane Kjer; her sons, Daniel Ivey and wife Desi, Lucas Ivey and wife Summer; brother, Eric Barker; grandchildren Harley, Jaxson, Luna and Duke; her best friends, Joy Hammond, Lana Dollgener, and Cindi Kent; along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
