Kathy Adelle “Dell” Duncan, 78, got the better end of the deal going home to Jesus on July 6, 2022 while the rest of us have to hang out hear a little bit longer. Dell, along with her identical twin sister Nell, were born on November 29, 1943 to Lloyd and Ruby Lindsey in Forney, Texas. She graduated Greenville High school in 1963, and then attended East Texas State University. Dell had several jobs over the years including branch manager at Mutual savings and loan, American Airlines, Duncan dental and Duncan electric to name a few. But enough about what she “did” let’s talk about who she was. She was the wife of Bob Duncan, to which they shared 18 years of life together. Dell was a loving mother to her two sons, Stephen & Bart Millard, who she was blessed with by her former husband, Arthur Millard, and her step son Dr. Greg Duncan.
Dell was an incredibly talented singer and piano player. She sang with her twin sister, Nell, ever since they were kids. Even recording a record. She started a musical legacy that will continue through her kids and grandkids. Dell loved playing piano wherever she attended church, and for every nursing home in town. She was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist church, but as much as she loved music and her church, she’ll be remembered most for her incredible love for Jesus and family. She was an amazing woman, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who has faithfully followed Jesus throughout her life. She may not have been perfect, but she was absolutely redeemed.
She is survived by her husband Bob Duncan, her sons Stephen Millard, Bart Millard and stepson Dr. Greg Duncan, daughters-in-law Darcy Millard, Shannon Millard and Dr. Mary Duncan, grandchildren Morgan Redd, Adam Millard, Allie Millard, Sam Millard, Gracie Millard, Charlie Millard, Sophie Millard, Miles Millard, Kally Duncan and Andrew Duncan, and great grandchild Scarlett Redd.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Ruby Lindsey, first husband Arthur Millard, sister and brother-in-law Nell and Richard Krodle and brothers Don Lindsey and Richard Lindsey.
Kathy Adelle Duncan will be missed greatly…but only temporarily. Thanks to her deep love and commitment to Jesus Christ, she isn’t just a memory from our past, but a massive part of our future.
A memorial to honor Dell will be Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10 am at Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.org)
