Kevin Eugene Nix, 58, of Caddo Mills, also called: Nix, Dad, Papa, Son, Bubba, Unc, Cuñado and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Kevin is survived by wife, Karen Nix; mother, Pat Nix; mother-in-law, Judy Hernandez; daughters, Keira Nix Bird (Kurtiss), Shelley Nix Johnson (Krishna), Jenny Nix Livergood (Daryl); son, Matthew Eugene Nix (Tabbitha); bonus daughter, Jennifer Rivard (George Crenshaw).
Kevin was Papa to Alician, Alex, Hannah, Carlie, Maranda, Macie, Landon, Kaden, Xavier, and Donovan.
Kevin was Bubba to Cindy Nix Lay (David), Darla Boyd, and his baby sister, Lisa Nix King (Doug).
Additionally, sisters-in-law, Sherry Hernandez and Carmella Hernandez along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends survive Kevin.
Kevin is preceded in death by father, Bobby Nix; father-in-law, Tony Hernandez; brothers-in-law, Tony Hernandez and Gabe Ocon; nephew, Brandon Chambers.
Kevin was a talented mechanic, of many different things. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He had a tremendous passion for life and family. He would never leave you stranded, he would come and get you if you were stuck on the side of the road, no matter, when or where it was.
Kevin loved racing. He was a great racer himself; from his dragster, the Boss Mustang, he helped his dad and uncle with, to the SLOT cars he was just as passionate about.
He loved to fish out on the pontoon boat with the kids and grandkids. He loved to get down on the floor and play Hot Wheels or Legos. He was just a big kid at heart. He loved the Lord with many people at Vansickle Baptist Church and shared his faith with everyone.
A special memory was the day Kevin called Karen from a payphone to tell her they were going to go dancing with the family. This was the beginning of them getting BACK together, for the BEST 28 years of marriage.
Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Vansickle Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas. Funeral Service will begin at 10:30AM on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at VanSickle Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas. Interment will follow at 1:00PM at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
