Larry ”Kendall” Murphy, 60, of Merit, went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2023. The celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, Texas with Brother James Seigler officiating.
Kendall was born March 18, 1963, in Greenville, Texas, to Larry Murphy and Brenda Lytle. Kendall was a graduate of Greenville High School. He married the love of his life, Lisa Isham, on April 20, 1981, in Savoy, Texas. He will be remembered for the wealth of wisdom that he shared with his kids and grandkids and his passion for hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved the Lord, family, friends, hunting buddies and country music; especially George Strait and Steve Wariner. He was a Lifetime member of the Texas Trappers & Fur Hunters Association, National Trappers Association, a proud member of the Sportsmen’s Alliance and the National Rifle Association. He worked for L-3 Communications in Greenville, Texas for 35 years.
Kendall was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Murphy of Merit; son, Kenny Murphy and wife, Hilary; daughter, Christa Poindexter and husband, Andrew; step-father, Thomas Thornton; brothers, David Murphy and Christie, and Chris Murphy; step-brother, Jim Thornton; grandchildren, Austin Kendall Murphy, Trey Poindexter, Ty Kendall Poindexter, Tripp Poindexter, and Atlas Murphy; father-in-law, Jessie Isham; sister-in-law, Rita Blakemore and husband, Larry; aunt, Tammy Wade and husband, Donnie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
