Larry “Skid” Skidmore, 76, of Farmersville, Texas, passed away on December 26, 2024. He was born on August 17, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, to Alvis Skidmore and Sally Boyd Skidmore.

Skid was a dedicated plumber by trade, working in construction and building for many years. Known for his hardworking nature, he took pride in the work he did. Outside of his career, Skid had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly fishing. He was also a natural competitor, excelling in sports, especially basketball. His love for music shone through in his enjoyment of singing, and his sense of humor was infectious—Skid was always quick to tell a joke and could make anyone laugh.

He is survived by his sons, Matthew Skidmore and wife Nikki, and Jeremy Skidmore and wife Amy; his sister, Linda Toal; five grandchildren, De Skidmore and fiancé Gracy Whitmire, Phillip Skidmore, Blayne Skidmore, Bryant Mixon, and Tucker Mixon; and three great-grandchildren, Lyle Skidmore, Lawson Skidmore, and Layken Skidmore.

Skid was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Douglas Skidmore.

A memorial service will be held at Top Rail Cowboy Church, in Greenville, Texas.

Skid will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
