Laura McNeely Nelson, 65, of Greenville, passed away on September 29, 2021, in Greenville, Texas. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Ralson officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Mrs. Nelson was born June 21, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas to Samuel Morris and Dorthy Flowers. She married Gary Nelson and retired as an accountant. The simplest pleasures in life brought Laura great joy.
She loved a Texas thunderstorm, was a loving and devoted mom, and the best Gran to her babies. She was a second mom to many of her kids’ friends and loved her two furbabies, Lucy and Wilson. She enjoyed going with her grandchildren, Merci and Kenzi to get their nails done and enjoy being pampered and loved to travel and see new places. She loved watching the Cowboy’s with her sons and a cold beer in hand, loved to watch TV and movies, and could spend all day doing so. Laura was a social butterfly who loved to meet new people and make friends.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel McNeely and wife, Tiffany and Jake Nelson; daughter, Cristin DeRoche and husband, Dave; sister, Donna Kay; and grandchildren, Merci Tippit, Kenzi McNeely, Dane DeRoche and Kailee DeRoche.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
