Leon La Vern Shippy Jr., 87, of Quinlan, Texas passed away on November 29, 2021. He was born to Leon La Vern Shippy Sr. and Marie Johnson on July 7, 1934, in Buffalo, New York.
Leon served his time with the U.S.A.F. and met his wife Mackie Lee. The couple married in 1957 in Oklahoma. They had two daughters, Lori Leeann and Arden Lili. Leon moved his family to Greenville in 1967, where he worked for Temco, L.T.V. E-Systems and retired with Raytheon, and then he moved to Cash.
Leon is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years in 2012, his mother in 1976 and his sister Ethyel in 1974.
He is survived by his daughters: Lori Cline and husband Shawn Cline, and Arden Shippy. Grandchildren: Ross Leon Cline and wife Elizabeth, Ryan Cline, Trey Cline and wife Haylee, and Brylee Shippy. Great-grandchildren: Carter, Kennedy, Reagen, Jaxon, Alice, Charlie, and Eisley.
Leon lived a full life surrounded by his daughter and son-in-law, grandsons, and great-grandkids. He spent his final years with his beloved dog Pepper.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
