Gene was born on September 30, 1937, to Leonard Woodson Cummings and Roxanne Partridge Cummings in Greenville, Tx. He attended Celeste Elementary and Celeste High School and graduated in 1956. He had his own Auto Body and Wrecking Yard. Gene married the love of his life Patricia Marie on February 1, 1963, in Greenville. He worked with the Boys Scouts of America, was active in the Celeste Booster Club thru out the years. He loved hunting, fishing, watching westerns (Gun Smoke), but his greatest was being a dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

 

He is survived by his, wife Patricia Marie Lane, , sons; Larry Cummings and wife Tracy of Greenville, David Cummings of Celeste, Brandon “Shorty” Cummings and wife Tammy of Celeste, son in law James Howard of Celeste, daughter, Stella Willeford and husband Scott of Celeste, grandchildren: Megan Cummings Marcus, Kylie Bears, Ramsey Sabri & husband Omar, Morgan Hinton & husband Jon, Matthew White, Kandice Hunter & husband Robert, James Howard Jr, Robert “Rod” Bowman, Lauren Killingsworth & husband DJ, Zach Willeford & wife Brittany, Macie Parrott & husband Seth, Bradley Mayrell, Tyler Willeford & wife Brooklyn, Micheal Roberts, Nathan Roberts & wife Sarah, Jeffery Roberts & wife Kaleigh, Dustin Cummings, Kaleb Cummings, Chelsea Justice & husband Dean, Chase Kieffer & wife Jackie, Bryce Kieffer, Brynn Cummings, Caleigh Cummings, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN Jordan Hampton, Alana Marcus, Gabe Marcus, Baylee Bears, Ryder Bears, Blakely Sabri, Oaklyn Sabri, James H. Gene was proceeded in death by, parents Leonard and Roxanne Cummings, his grandparents James Franklin Partridge and Lottie Elizabeth Goff Partridge of Lone Oak, Tx., William Thomas Cummings and Florence Fomby Cummings of Rains County, Tx., daughter Karen Howard of Celeste, sister, Annelle Elam of Kileen, Tx.

 

Memorial Service for Gene will be at Higher Trails Cowboy Church on FM 903, Celeste, Tx. at 1:00 P.M. on February 12th, 2022, Pastor will be Shawn Stubblefield.
