Lora Mae Senger, born on January 21, 1947, in Roscoe, Texas, passed into eternity on February 12, 2025, to be embraced by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life was one of profound faith, enduring love, and an unending devotion to her family and community.

Lora’s journey began in the small town of Roscoe, where she was the cherished daughter of Velma Irene
Parker McGlothlin and J.Z. McGlothlin. She married Wayne Slaton on July 27, 1963, and together, they
shared a beautiful life with daughters Lorie Roberts and Lisa Rorie Gillham. Later, after the passing of her
cherished Wayne Slaton, she married Mel Senger on April 1, 1990, creating a second chapter filled with
joy and devotion in serving the Lord. Lora’s greatest treasure was the Lord, and the family He blessed her
with—each member a testament to the love and grace He spoke over her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husbands, Wayne and Mel, her brother Stanley
McGlothlin, her sister Sonjia Jeanette McGlothlin, and her precious daughter, Lisa Diane Rorie Gillham.
Though she now rests in the arms of the Savior, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those in this room,
and all who were impacted by her faith in Jesus.

Lora’s life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her children, grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Lorie Roberts (husband Steve), son-in-law Kevin Gillham,
her grandchildren—Stephanie (husband Jake), Zarina (husband Larry), Christa (husband David), Collin
(wife Ashley), Conner, Caitlyn, and Colton, her 13 great-grandchildren—Eva, Luke, Titus, Joseph, Aiden,
Khloe, Levi, Hattie, Aubrey, Alivia, Noah, Joshua, and Mark, two brothers, Bruce McGlothlin, and Eddie
McGlothlin, along with multiple beloved nieces and nephews and their children. Her family and faith were
at the center of her heart, and she poured her love into each generation with grace and devotion. It was
her passion, and she considered it a great privilege to lift the name of each family member to the Lord at
the end of every day.

A servant at heart, Lora’s faith was the foundation of everything she did. Baptized on August 27, 1967,
she lived a life devoted to Christ as a Sunday School teacher, Precept International teacher, and member
of the Gideon’s Auxiliary International. She was passionate about sharing God’s word and teaching
others to do the same. She carried the light of Christ wherever she went, living out the message of His
love. One of the guiding principles of Lora’s life was her favorite Bible verse, Romans 8:28: “And we know
that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His
purpose.” It was in this verse that Lora found comfort and strength, trusting that God’s plan was greater
than any difficulty she faced.

Those who knew Lora would describe her as a beacon of light—her faith shining through even in the
darkest times. Her strength, kindness, and firm belief in the goodness of God touched everyone she met.
Lora was never one to seek the spotlight, but her life was a living testimony to the grace and love she
experienced through her relationship with Christ. She has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and her
legacy will continue to point us to the hope and trust we have in Jesus.

A service celebrating her life and faith will be held at Lynch Funeral Service, Sunday, February 16th,
2:00pm. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00-1:45pm the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, the
family invites you to honor Lora’s memory by embracing each opportunity to share the love of Jesus, in
word or deed, with someone you encounter today. May we reflect her steadfast faith and trust in God’s
kindness to the world, just as she did so beautifully during her time with us.
