Marjorie was born on January 10, 1928, to Carl and Edith Rice Jacobs in a small farm house north of the Tidwell Community. She had many aunts and uncles that welcomed her into the family and made her feel loved. Marjorie professed her faith in Jesus Christ at age 11 during a brush arbor revival meeting at Tidwell Baptist Church and was later baptized in a pond near White Rock. She attended school at Tidwell and completed high school in Greenville. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the then East Texas State Teachers College and Master’s Degree from East Texas State University, Commerce.
Marjorie began her teaching career in Trinidad, Texas, where she met her husband, Royce Boshart. They were married on April 3, 1953, at Tidwell Baptist Church. After returning to Greenville, she taught at Houston Elementary School, 5th grade at Lamar Elementary School for the majority of her teaching years, and retired after moving to the Intermediate School as 5th grade teacher.
Marjorie faithfully served at her church, Highland Terrace Baptist Church (formerly Washington Street Baptist Church), for many years. She loved good Bible teaching, Sunday School, Senior Adults days, serving on the funeral meal committee and so much more. She found special pleasure in monthly lunches and game playing with dear friends. After her eyesight failed in her later years, she enjoyed listening to her favorite pastors on television.
Marjorie loved family–being with family, hearing from family and seeing pictures of family. She loved preparing family meals for any occasion just to gather them all around her table. She made holidays and birthdays and every day special in the lives of her children and grandchildren, living an active, healthy and full life as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by son Jay Boshart and wife Cinda, and daughter Kay Hawkins and husband David, all of Greenville; eight grandchildren and their families: Emily Poulter and husband Tommy and their children Claire, Ava, Ben and Luke of Cedar Park; Rebecca Ellis and husband Michael and their children Jack, Ty, Austin and Brady of Andersen Air Force Base, Guam; Stan and wife Maggie and their boys Mays and Gray of Collegeville, Pennsylvania; Hannah Worley and husband Phillip and their children Clark, Isla and Liam of Tomball; Caroline Flowers and husband Lawson and their children Brooks, Eliza, Jones, Adelaide and Campbell of Tomball; Grant Boshart of The Woodlands; Christina Killgore and husband Joe and their children Eli, Lincoln, Carter and Kate; Laura Boshart, all of Greenville; and her golden retriever companion, Sandy.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, and by her husband in 1980.
