Mary Gallion, 85, formerly of Commerce, passed away early Sunday morning, January 30, 2022 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sulphur Springs, Tx.  Mary was born in Myrtle Springs, Tx. on July 24, 1936, the daughter of George Roy Levi Anderson and Bertha Mae Corcoran Anderson. She attended school at West Delta School in Delta County Texas.  She enjoyed talking and never met anyone she didn’t think she knew from somewhere. She also loved playing bingo and putting puzzles together. Mary loved her kids and grandkids. She worked for Sherwood Industries, in Commerce, up until the time of her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Roy and Bertha Mae Anderson, sisters: Alene Moran and Jewell Boddie, brothers Roy Anderson Jr. and George Lee Anderson, a son Raymond G. Thompson, her first husband, Grover D. Thompson of Antlers, Oklahoma and her second husband, William (Bill) T. Gallion. She is survived by a son Richard D. Thompson and wife Jean; grandsons, Adam Thompson of Sulphur Springs, Tx., Jody Vogt and wife Michelle of Royce City, Tx., a granddaughter Martha Anne Thompson of Sulphur Springs, Tx. a great grand daughter, Emma Vogt of Royce City, Tx., one brother, Lonnie Anderson of Cumby, Tx., two sisters: Maxine Sullivan and husband Jimmy oif Bismarck, Arkansas and Alice Hall of Cumby, Tx. There are also several nieces and nephews among her survivors.

Visitation for Mary Gallion will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 12-12:45 p.m. at Jones-Walker Funeral Home in Commerce, Tx. and a graveside service will follow at the Cumby Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Moore officiating. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
