McKenzie “Mack” Yager, 76, of Greenville, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 1, 2019. Born to parents McKenize R. & Margaret Yager on February 17, 1943. Mack is survived by his wife of 36 years Sandy Yager; son Mack L. Yager; sister Signe Yager; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; one niece, and life long friends Irv and Penny Goodroad, along with a host of loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by two nephews and his parents. Mack lived a fulfilling life, serving in the United States Air Force for most of his career, he also put in 20 years with E-systems/Raytheon. After retirement, Mack continued to show support for his fellow Veterans through his involvement with the Hunt County Veterans Honor Guard. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion, Audie Murphy Cotton Museum, NRA and the Sheriff’s Association of Texas. Mack enjoyed spending time collecting coins and knives. His favorite days were the times he and Sandy shared on the island of St. Thomas, USVI.
The family will be accepting guests at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas at 1 pm on Thursday, September 5th, 2019 with a Funeral Service being held at 2 pm in the Chapel, burial will take place following the service at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you honor Mack’s memory through donations to the Wounded Warriors Association.
