Mildred Joyce Reaves Cotton, age 87, of Quinlan, passed away, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at her home. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 2:00p.m.- 4:00p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan. A private burial will be held at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Quinlan.
Mildred Joyce Reaves was born on August 15, 1933 in McKinney to the late Therman Edwin Reaves. She was raised and attended school in McKinney. She married Mr. Thomas Earl Cotton on December 22, 1951 and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2004. During their marriage, she was a dedicated military wife and traveled with her husband to the numerous places they lived. She was a longtime Quinlan resident, living in Irving before moving to the area in 1971, where she worked in the QISD cafeteria for 10 years until 1984. She was also preceded in death by her son, William Cotton in January 2018 and her brother, Gene Edwin Reaves of Portland, Maine in 2016.
She is loved and missed by her sons, Edwin Earl Cotton and wife Charlotte of West Tawakoni, Roy Howard Cotton and wife Karen of Las Vegas and Jerry Cotton of McKinney. Two sisters, Meredith Walden of Houston and Peggy Stanley of McKinney; grandchildren, Shelli Kay of Garland, Evelyn Mae, Shane Gibbons, Misti Ochoa, Tammy Lynn, Terry Scott, Gary Glen, Brenda Lynn and Brandon Duane all of Quinlan, William Thomas of Oklahoma, Thomas Edwin of Maryland, and Brice Thomas of McKinney, David Allen Tarver of Princeton and Michael Brandon Tarver of Canton; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren
