Mrs. Peggy J. Perser, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 8:09 a.m.  She was born on April 14,1930 in Whitewright, Texas to John G. Ooten and Gertrude West Ooten.  She married R.L. Perser, Jr. on June 29, 1951 in Greenville, Texas.

Peggy dedicated her life to teaching first grade. She started teaching in Dallas, Texas and then moved to Greenville where she taught at Austin and Lamar Elementary for 43 years. She retired in 2002.

She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She and R.L. were charter members of Crestview Christian church. She was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority at East Texas State Teacher’s College, where she received her Master’s degree in Library Science. She was active in bridge club and garden club. She loved her family, friends, dining out and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Perser, Jr.

She is survived by her three sons: John Perser and wife, Judy, of Rockwall, Texas, Tim Perser and wife, Debbie, of Frisco, Texas and Philip Perser and wife, Barbara, of Rockwall, Texas and her beloved grandchildren, Sean Perser, Erin Perser and Matt Perser.

The family will have a private service.
