Nasa Pollard Smith, 86, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020, at her residence. A private graveside service will be held at Memoryland Memorial Park. Rev. Tommy Morgan will officiate. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born May 30, 1933, Nasa was the daughter of Monie W. Pollard and Emma Christine (Phillips) Pollard. On June 28, 1957, in Greenville, she married Robert Wayne Smith. Mrs. Smith was a retired secretary from E/Systems (Raytheon), and she was a member of the United Presbyterian Church (formerly Grace Presbyterian).
Survivors include her husband, Robert Wayne Smith of Greenville; sons, Scott Smith and wife Karen of Greenville, Eric Smith and wife Anita of Greenville, and Brian Smith and wife Dina of Prosper; sister Sara Hall of Chandler; grandchildren, Acacia Scott and husband Westley, Kayla Hudson and husband Clif, Kyle Smith and wife Carli, Stephanie Shelton, Jillian Singleterry and husband Nathan, Taylor Smith, Jannica Goodman and April McCullough; great-grandchildren, Alauna and Addison Scott, Zane and Kavik Hudson, and Callie and Kimber Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Taylor Smith, Mark Hall, Phil Hall, Scott Smith, Eric Smith and Brian Smith.
Family requests memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association and Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
