Nelda G Dunn Hodgson, 82, of Greenville, Texas, laid her head to rest on the morning of March 29, 2023. Nelda was born to Bessie Elizabeth Arnold and Theo Dunn on August 11, 1940, in Campbell, Texas.
Nelda was known for being an extraordinary mom, raising four kids who all participated in several extracurricular activities. After dropping one kid off to football she would immediately turn around to take one to piano lessons, and still made it to church with them every Sunday. Nelda was not only a mom to her four children, but she opened her home to their friends as well. When everyone started driving she made sure they knew to not block the driveway!
Nelda is survived by son, Donny Hodgson and wife Susan; daughters, Crysti Brewer and husband Jerry, and Trina Hightower and husband Chris White; sisters, Myrtie Bowers and husband Emmerson, and Linda Weeks. Nelda also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many loving friends and extended family.
Nelda is preceded in death by her husband, SGM Cecil “Joe” Hodgson; her parents; son, Edward Hodgson; and sister, Georgia Shipp.
A funeral will take place Saturday, April 1, 2023, starting at 1:00 P.M. at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas. The visitation will take place and hour prior. Russell Rogers will be leading the service.
