Nona Kaye Adams, 83, passed away in Methodist Hospital in Dallas on January 16, 2023. She was born on September 6, 1939, in Bell, California. She resided in Commerce, Texas most of her life where she graduated from Commerce High School in 1957, then attended East Texas State University.
Kaye married the love of her life, John Miller Adams, on June 16, 1956, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Commerce. She was a loving wife and mother to Lori Kaye and Cheryl Elizabeth. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to sew and quilt. She ran a successful upholstery business out of her home. She often transported Lori and the cheerleaders to many football games and chaperoned and attended many of Cheryl’s band events. She loved to travel with her husband and family. She and John traveled to all fifty states in their motorhome.
Kaye loved the mountains, especially near Creede, Colorado, where many vacations were shared with family and good friends. She enjoyed rides in offroad vehicles to old mine sites and to see fantastic scenery. She enjoyed quilt shows and quilting retreats with friends.
Kaye is survived by her husband, John; brother, Gene Moore; daughters, Lori Danen, and Cheryl Stahl and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Chris Stahl, Jaime Stahl, Michael Danen and Steven Danen.
Kaye is preceded in death by her father Ernest Moore and mother, Della Moore, and sister-in-law, Roberta Moore.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kaye to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends at a visitation to take place on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home.
