Peggy Sue Ketner, 71, of Commerce, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville.
Peggy was born on May 10, 1950, in Commerce, Tx., the daughter of Lee Arthur Sands and Nannie Pearl Shirley Sands. She married the love of her life, Joe Ketner on September 17, 1969, and they were married for more than 52 years. Peggy worked in the custodial department of ETSU (A & M, Commerce) for many years and her most recent employment was at Commerce Chevrolet where she started by picking up and delivering vehicles. This soon turned into an office job at the place that she fondly referred to as her “home away from home”. She loved spending time with her husband and family riding in their side-by-side and enjoying all the things involved in this activity. Peggy also enjoyed spending time cross-stitching and diamond painting.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Harrod of Commerce, two sons: Frankie Hines of Monahans, Tx., and David Ketner of Lone Oak, Tx., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe, son, Gene Ketner, 2 granddaughters, brothers: Owen Sands and Kenneth Sands and a sister, Shirley Brown.
Visitation for Peggy will be held in the Jones-Walker Funeral Chapel in Commerce on Wednesday November 3, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A private interment service will be held at a later time with Bro. Terry Holley officiating.
