Funeral Services for Phyllis Dianne Mason, age 68, will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan Texas.
Phyllis was born to parents Roland Miller and Billie Jean (Rasbury) Miller on Wednesday, September 21, 1955, in Quinlan, where she was raised and attended Quinlan High School. She opened two thrift stores: one in Greenville, TX, and one in Corsicana, TX. With hard work and perseverance, she retired at the age of 62. She married Richard Mason on September 24, 2015, and spent the last eight years of her life in love with him.
Phyllis had a huge heart for everyone she met. She showed compassion and loved others like they were her own family. Just like family, she worried about the people she loved and wanted only the best for them. This love of hers extended to animals, but she had a special place in her heart for cats.
Phyllis loved to travel and had a passion for history. She loved to visit old towns and learn about their history; she also had a passion for going to historic graveyards where she would hunt for ghosts or do a ghost walk if it was offered. For Christmas, she felt closest to family when they were able to travel to her favorite spot, their cabin in Broken Bow, Oklahoma; here she would show off her cooking skills to anyone who joined them. She found Fourth of July celebrations best in a small town because they had the best festivals.
She was preceded by her parents and brother Danny Miller.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard Mason; son, Jacob Fortner and his wife Amber and her stepson Jesse Masson, and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jacob, and Ally Fortner.
