Phyllis Kay Sharkey, 75, of Merit, Texas, passed away November 26, 2023, at Medical City of McKinney. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Shepherd Hill Lane Church in Leonard, Texas, with Rev. Tim James, Rev. James Seigler, and Rev. Guille Seigler officiating. Burial will follow at Merit Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Phyllis was born July 6, 1948, in Greenville, Texas, to James (Jay) Herman and Edith Louise Seigler Blakemore. She married Gary Sharkey on July 27, 1984, in Merit, Texas. She worked in administration for Brinker International and was a member of the Shepherd Hill Lane Church.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gary Sharkey of Merit, TX; son, Chris Gravely of Pilot Point, TX; daughter, Teresa Gravely of Denton, TX; son, Christopher Davis of Carrollton, TX and wife Dallas; son Joshua Sharkey of Sherman, TX; 8 grandchildren, Heather Robinson of Sanger, TX and husband Chase; Presley Mollen of Denton, TX; Kennedy, London and Lexi Gravely of Krugerville, TX; Koral, Mya and Ryver Sharkey of Denison, TX; 3 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Kinsley and Blakley of Sanger, TX; brothers, Jerry Blakemore of Garland, TX and wife Cindy; David Blakemore of Cash, TX and wife Jo; Larry Don Blakemore of Merit, TX and wife Rita; Billy Blakemore of Farmersville, TX and wife Patty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James (Jay) Blakemore and Louise Blakemore; and brother, James Randell Blakemore.
Pallbearers will be Larry Jay Blakemore, Jesse Blakemore, Jeremy Blakemore, Chase Robinson, Tim Sharkey, Mark Shoaff. Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Lawson.
