Reba Lee (Brooks) Collins went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2023 at the age of 93 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, loving husband, eldest son, and daughter. She is survived by daughter, Yvonne Collins of Bokchito, Oklahoma and youngest son, Bryan Collins of Crandall, Texas.
Reba was blessed beyond measure with four children- Larry, Barbara, Yvonne, and Bryan along with 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Reba was born on March 14, 1930 in Lafferty, Arkansas to parents Boyd and Dona (Hall) Brooks. She was the middle child of five sisters, Vinnie, Mildred, Stella, and Myrtle. She grew up in Arkansas and Missouri until she met the love of her life, O.A. Collins who she married on August 3, 1950. Together they enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage raising children and family. Reba was a devoted wife and mother; she enjoyed working on their family farm in Greenville, Texas, tending to her garden and cooking. Holidays were always a treat as she would make her famous chicken and dumplings and homemade fried pies. In later years she spent her time living in Oklahoma and enjoying time with the family, especially all of her grandchildren.
She will be in our hearts forever and missed by all who knew her kind and caring spirit.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Lynch Funeral Service Chapel in Greenville, Texas. A committal service will be at 10:15 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
