Richard James Hightower, 53, of Wolfe City, TX, passed away at his residence on September 10, 2020. Richard was born in Sherman, TX on September 28, 1966, the son of Jimmy Louis Hightower and Belvy Mae Johnson. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Richard attended Sherman High School and was part of the Bearcat class of 1984. He married the love of his life, Falicia Lynn Combs, on May 7, 1998 in Durant, OK. Richard worked as a truck driver for Sanitation Solutions and was a faithful employee until his health began to decline. He enjoyed spending time working on his tractor; something he and his father-in-law did together. He was in the midst of remodeling the house and had recently acquired a boat that he was looking forward to restoring. But most of all, he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife of 25 years, Falicia; sons, James Hightower, Kyle Isham (Cristina), Garrick Polyard (Miranda), and Tristyn Miller; siblings, Doug Teel (Sissy), Timmy Teel (Nancy), Bridgette Hightower (Roy), Preston Hightower (Jennifer), Roxie Hightower; 12 grandchildren; mother, Belvy Nelson; father, Jimmy Hightower; mother-in-law, Margaret Combs and father-in-law, Joe Combs.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffeny Hightower and a son, Justin Hightower.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Garrick Polyard, Josh Bray, Tristyn Miller, Kyle Isham, Jason Stephens, and A.J. Hightower.
