Ricky Badgett, a man who truly lived life to its fullest, passed away on May 23, 2025, in Caddo Mills, Texas, at the age of 64. It seems “The sea is calling” was not just a decoration at his front door, as our Lord has called him home.
Ricky had a zest for life that was evident in all he did. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures, particularly fishing. So skilled and at ease with the pastime, he could even impressively bait a hook with his toes. His meticulous nature extended to his love for a clean car, a task he approached with dedication.
The allure of the coast frequently called to Ricky, leading him on many memorable trips to Galveston. His deep affection for the ocean and the beach was a significant part of his life, so much so that his apartment was thoughtfully decorated in a beach theme, bringing the serenity of the seaside into his home.
A true enthusiast of old rock and roll music, Ricky’s soundtrack was filled with classic tunes. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his good friends, creating lasting memories and sharing laughter.
He is survived by his loving brother, Phil Hix, and his wife Jana; his niece, Makayla Isbell; along with a host of dear friends who will miss him profoundly. We know he is with his mother now, no longer in pain.
Ricky’s vibrant spirit and unique passions will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
