Robbie Ruth Boulton Moseley, 98, of Greenville, passed away May 19th, at Briarcliff Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville. Visitation is Friday, May 22, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with a graveside Celebration of Life and interment at 2:00 pm, at Memoryland. Officiants are Dr. Dennis Koger of San Marcos, and Dr. Matthew Beasley of Greenville. The public is welcome.
Robbie was born September 11, 1921, in Lone Oak Texas, to Robert and Sara Boyd Boulton, proudly filling the spot of youngest and most doted-upon of their six children. She married the love of her life, Linton Levoy Moseley, on May 23, 1942, in Greenville. Soon after, Linton was drafted into the service. Following never traveling out-of-state, she boarded a Georgia-bound bus and joined him at Warner Robbins Air Force Base to make a new life. There, they made lifelong friends, and welcomed their first child, Joan.
After his discharge from the army, Linton and Robbie moved back to Greenville where they lived the remainder of each of their lives. More than a decade later, the family added a second and last daughter, Sherry. Robbie’s life was filled with blessing others. In true extroverted style, she thrived on building relationships with people. She spoke her mind with directness and respect, which built trust in her plentiful words of praise. As a homemaker, she created memories for her family and friends through loving experiences, hand-crafted gifts and cards, parties and special events, as well as in everyday life. Imprinted by the loving care she invested in people, most memories are of the meaningful and encouraging words she shared, as well as the simple traditions she created. Robbie’s creativity spanned the realms of painting, crafting, sewing, decorating, cooking, event hosting, gardening, flower arranging, and artistry with words.
She and Linton invested their time and resources in the churches where they were members, including becoming charter members of Ridgecrest Baptist in Greenville. One of her favorite activities became taking extended camping trips with Linton and meeting up with friends, where they found many opportunities to bless others.
Robbie was an avid fan of her great-grandchildren, spending time playing, drawing and baking for and with them well into her 90’s. Each child, friend, family member, co-worker and care taker she loved, carries with them her genuine words of wisdom and encouragement as a life-long blessing, thus fulfilling God’s purpose for her life.
Robbie is survived by daughter, Joan Nelson and husband Jim (her favorite person on earth) of Greenville, daughter Sherry Wacasey Holland and husband Kent of Greenville; grandchildren Matt Koger and wife Kris of Greenville, and Cody Wacasey and wife Gwen of Greenville; great-grandchildren Justin Koger and wife Sayre of Fort Worth, Travis Koger of Dallas, Ally Koger of College Station, Landon Koger of Greenville, and Jacob, Elijah, Zachariah, Sarah and Micah Wacasey all of Greenville; step-grandson, Greg Wacasey and wife Rachel of Longview, and step-great-grandchildren Anthony and Ashton Garcia of Hillsboro.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Linton; her brothers Johnie, Cleotha and Leon Boulton; her sisters Ethel Bussey Bennet and Flora Saunders; and her parents “Bob” and “Sally” Boulton.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Early Childhood Intervention Program in Greenville are requested in honor of their effective work with great-grandson Zachariah.
