ROBERT LEWIS HEADY, 65, of Caddo Mills, went to be with Jesus on January 30th, 2020.  “Bob” Heady, son of the late Alfred and Irene Heady, loving husband of Sandra Heady, passed away early Thursday morning in his home surrounded by his family, after being diagnosed with cancer just weeks before.  He will forever be remembered as a loving father, a faithful husband, and an irreplaceable “Papaw”.

Bob, born in Dallas, Texas on March 3rd, 1954, was an avid hunter and was one with nature. From a little boy to adulthood (Barefoot Bob is what they called him), Bob lived and breathed being out in the wild.  From the Piney Woods of East Texas teaming with whitetail to dove birds soaring over the stalk-cut pastures of Hunt County, he shared and passed down his passion to others by spending hours outdoors with his loved ones.

Bob was like a father to those around him and was gifted with a contagious personality that brought people together.  He was a hero to so many and his compassion transcended a multitude of generational and cultural boundaries.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Irene Heady; and his sister, Debbie Kinkade.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Heady of 42 years; sister, Elaine Hill, and husband Mark; brother, Monte “Bear” Heady, and wife, Linda; daughter, Rene Montenegro, and husband Larry “Boy” Montenegro; son, Michael “Jake or sometimes Boy” Heady and wife, Rebekah Heady; his four grandchildren, Brendon, Madelyn, Khloe, and Colton; plus many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Bob will always be known as a God-fearing, red-blooded Texan, a true gentleman, a protector of his flock, a generous giver, and someone who’s compassion knew no bounds.  He left a legacy behind and will be missed greatly. A service will be held honoring Bob’s life Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at Oasis Church in Caddo Mills.
