Roy “Tip” Chambliss Sr., 92, of Kingston Texas, passed away on September 23, 2024. Born on February 27, 1932, to Lura and Charlie Chambliss, Roy lived a life dedicated to his family and his work.
Roy was a master welder and electrician, known for his expertise in building specialty transformers for Continental Electronics of Dallas. He also proudly served as a sergeant in the National Guard. His skills and dedication left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Roy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Roy and Chris Chambliss Jr.; his daughters and son-in-law, Jan Buchanan, Nanette Jones, and Chris Jones; and his sister, Evonna. He was a beloved grandfather to Karen Giles, Matt Rozell Jr., Casey Cawthorn, Alex Cawthorn, Lee Jones, Kelsey Pierce, Sam Chambliss, and Sabrina Chambliss, and he cherished his seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Chambliss; his daughter, Melody Rozell; two brothers; two sisters; his parents; and one son-in-law.
Roy will be remembered for his strong spirit, kindness, and love for his family and God. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
There will be a family visitation on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 5 pm, and a funeral service held in his honor at the LYNCH Funeral Service Chapel on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11am.
