Sandra Hamilton, age 58, of Quinlan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 4, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.
Sandra Rose McKain Hamilton was born on Saturday, August 21, 1965, in Benkelman, Nebraska to the late Mr. Lewis Roy McKain and Dolores Magdalene Haller McKain. She was raised and attended school in Nebraska and graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Nebraska. Upon graduation, Sandra enrolled at NCTA Veterinary Technology Institute, earning her degree as a veterinary technician before joining a clinic in Oberlin, Kansas. She moved to Texas in 2006 and worked for AutoZone distribution center in Terrell for 18 years until the time of her passing. She married Mr. Robert Hamilton on July 12, 2008, and he preceded her in death in 2019. Sandra had an adventurous spirit and a warm disposition. She was a hard worker and enjoyed the challenge of trying new things. From cutting trees to fixing cars, there was nothing that Sandra wouldn’t do to help others in need. Sandra was a collector of everything from trinkets to stray animals. Be it a dog, cat, or cow; Sandra had a place in her heart and home for any stray animals.
Her children remember fondly the menagerie of animals in their childhood and are very blessed to have witnessed the compassion their mother had for helpless animals. She even worked with the humane society to extend her reach to homeless animals. Sandra loved woodworking and growing her vegetable garden. She was an incredible cook. She adored chocolate of all kinds, but bread was her true weakness. She was always a sucker for hot buttered dinner rolls. To know Sandra was to love her. Her legacy of compassion and strength will live on in those she loved.
She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her sons, David McKain and wife Shawntah of Culbertson, Nebraska; Austin Sramek and wife Molly of Quinlan; Jeffery Nickel and wife Michelle of Herndon, Kansas; daughter, Samatha Mader of Hoxie, Kansas; brothers, Dewayne McKain, Gary McKain, Gene McKain, Roger McKain, Dale McKain, Bruce McKain, Leo McKain; sisters, Shirley McConnell.
