Sherry Smith, age 82, passed away on January 20, 2025. She was born on March 19, 1942, to Bill and Doris Connatser.
Sherry was a woman of many talents, particularly in the arts and crafts world, with a special passion for ceramics. She was also a skilled cook, famous for her mouth-watering chocolate pie and hearty beef stew. Her creativity extended beyond the kitchen, as she was known for her inventive use of staples and duct tape, which she could wield like no one else. Family was at the heart of Sherry’s life and fiercely loved her granddaughter.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Ginná Jones; son, Matt Smith and his wife, Emma; granddaughters, Sherry Jones and Ashley Richards; as well as her siblings: Janie Haggard, Nolan Connatser, Mary Capley and husband Ray, Mark Connatser and wife Lisa, and a host of loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Doris Connatser; her beloved husband, Bill Smith; and her brother, Billy Connatser.
A graveside service to honor Sherry’s memory will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Merit Cemetery.
Sherry will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
