Stanley Keith Giles was born on December 24, 1960, to Freddie and Wyvonne Giles in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Stanley was the youngest of five boys, and acted like it. Stanley met his bride at Rolling Hills parking lot whilst cruising Wesley Street. He proceeded to tell her he was rich and lived in a mansion. She quickly found out that was a lie and married him anyway on February 20, 1982, in Greenville, Texas.

Stanley became a champion team roper, was a hard worker, and a few short years later, became a father. His first child, Cody Keith, was born June 10, 1987 and shortly after, their perfect child, Emily Michelle, was born August 13, 1990. He lived a very happy life with his family with ups and downs and lots of laughs. He was effortlessly funny and had a smile that could brighten the darkest days.

He retired from North Texas Municipal Water District after 20 years of loyal service. He made some of his best friends while at work and met some of the best BS’ers during his tenure. Stanley loved his family fiercely and made that known. Most can attest that Stanley was one of the most generous men they had ever met. Stanley passed peacefully on January 24, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents Fred Odell Giles and Jere Wyvonne Giles; his brothers Jerry Fred, Mickey Ray, and Rickey Thomas Giles; his nephew Tony Giles; and his in-laws Bob and Jimmie Fulton.

He is survived in death by his wife Connie Renee Giles; his children Cody Keith Giles, Emily Michelle Giles, and his inherited son Sonny Baxley, his brother Terry Giles and wife Rose; his sister-in-law Vicki Virgel and husband Terry; his brother-in-law Duane Fulton and wife Kristi; his niece Lacey Kendall and husband Andy, his niece Doni Rae Giles; and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved as his own, and a slew of great & great-great nieces and nephews that were basically his grandchildren.

Stanley’s huckle bearers are Sonny Baxley, Mark Carpenter, Vincent Kendall, Toby Reagan, Terry Jones, Andy Guthery, Jay Sorrells, John Paul Ayad and Keith Johnson. Stanley always gave a special thanks to Charmaina Bowers for being his wife’s best friend and for overseeing the writing of this obituary from this anonymous author.
