Thomas A. Willess, 85 of Hogeye passed away on April 12, 2023 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
Tom was born in Rockwall on October 7, 1937, to James Homer and Melissa Pearl (Passons) Willess. Tom Graduated from Rockwall High School and then proudly served 4 ½ years in the US Navy. He married Joline (Scott) Willess on August 27, 1957, in Rockwall. In 1969 he was baptized into the Lord’s church and in 1973 became a gospel preacher serving churches in Idaho, Montana, and Arkansas.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joline Willess; 2 daughters, Vicki Jo Willess of Kingston and Lori Ann Dunham of Celeste; 4 grandsons, Nathan Sipe and wife Deamber of Clinton, Chad Sipe and wife Liz of Powderly, Scott Sipe and fiance Kerrie of Celeste, Allen Youngman and special friend Ashley of Celeste; 9 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Eli, Landon, Nathaniel, Blain, Riggin, McKenna, Ryan, Dylan; 2 brothers, Charles Willess of California, Lynn Willess of Rockwall; sisters, Janice Johnson of Rockwall; along with a host of loving extended relatives and friends.
Thomas is preceded in death by his father, mother, 5 sisters, and 6 brothers.
A visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 17, 2023 in the Lynch Funeral Chapel in Greenville with Steven Medford of Whitwright officiating. Interment will follow at the Hogeye Cemetery in Celeste. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Sipe, Chad Sipe, Scott Sipe, Allen Youngman, John Callanan, and Dan Soles.
