Thomas “Whirly Bird” Edward Lindsey, 85, of Caddo Mills passed away on November 12, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 13, 1937, in Caddo Mills to Dorthulah and Clifford Lindsey.

Thomas grew up in Floyd, TX. He was a carpenter who did much of the carpentry at the Hunt County Courthouse. He was well known in the area for his carpentry and worked as a handyman servicing many in the community.

Thomas was a family man who loved his family very much. He was married to the love of his life, Bernice, on December 11, 1954 by Brother Nelson. They became faithful members of the First Assembly of God of Caddo Mills.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Lindsey; daughter, Christina “Tina” Chambliss and husband Scott; grandchildren: Johnny Lovett and wife Toni, Joshua Thomas Lindsey and wife Becky, Misty Locke and husband Neal, Jeremy Wayne Lindsey and wife Annette, Tyler Scott Chambliss, Trenton Wayne Chambliss; great-grandchildren: Joseph Lovett, Melise Blumer and husband Austin, Johnny Lovett III, Kruz Vaughan, Chloe Locke, Carter Locke, Matthew Lindsey, Hannah Lindsey, Thomas Lindsey, Jewelaina Lovett; great-great-grandchild, Ann Marie Bernice Lindsey; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorthulah and Clifford Lindsey; children: Cathy Elaine Lindsey, Connie Elaine Lindsey Lovett, Thomas Wayne Lindsey; and siblings: Aubrey Lindsey, Bennie Lindsey, and Jerry Ray Lindsey.

There will be a visitation from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 and Funeral Service at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills. Interment will follow service at Simmons Cemetery in Cash (Greenville). Reverend Johnny Lovett and Reverend Joyce Pattison presiding.
