Surrounded in love by his wife and children, Mr. Timothy Thomas Wooten, age 72, of Greenville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the afternoon of November 25, 2020. Graveside memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2020 at Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Allen Howard and Dr. John T. Tate will officiate. Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. He was born on September 30, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to Winfred Earl and Elna Verneze Wooten. Tim married Cassie Lou Jaco on July 12, 1968 and was a devoted husband for over 52 years. He was a loyal father to Tim and Katrina Wooten of Greenville, Tommy and Lori Wooten of Ft. Townsend, Oklahoma, Terry and Hayley Wooten of Greenville, Todd Wooten of Greenville, and Tad and Nichola Wooten of Greenville. He was the proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren, Tyler and Jalie Wooten, Trevor Wooten, Tristan Wooten, Garrett and Natalia Packer, Hannah Packer, Luke Wooten, Baylee Wooten, Avie Wooten, Kennedy Wooten, Josie Wooten, Lexie Wooten, Annie Wooten, Ava Wooten, Weldon Wooten, Skylar Wooten and Bella Wooten; and numerous nieces and nephews and soon to be a great grandfather to his first great-grandchild. He was the loving brother to Randy and Gayle Wooten, Jon and Nancy Wooten, James and Marie Wooten, Polly and Mike Langford, Molly Jacks, Charles (Buz) and Dowanna Jaco and Carol (Jaco) and Scott Gaston; Tim graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1966, and went on to graduate from East Texas State University in 1971. He was a dedicated member of Central Christian Church in Greenville where he actively served on the board and was a deacon. He was a retiree of L-3 Communications where he diligently served for 36 years. He loved spending his days on projects around his home, woodworking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was genuine and kind and always led by example. His love for the Lord and his family was evident in his unconditional love, fierce loyalty, and strong determination to fulfill his family’s every need. His laughter, stories, advice, and unwavering love will be dearly missed. His legacy will forever live on in the lives he has touched. He is preceded in death by his son Todd Michael Wooten and his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the “Tim Wooten Scholarship Fund” at Central Christian Church, 2611 Wesley Street, Greenville, TX 75401.
