Tom Tharp, 83, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 in Greenville. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Seigler officiating. Visitation will be 1 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Wilmeth Cemetery in Wilmeth, Texas.

Mr. Tharp was born September 29, 1936 in Coleman, Texas to Clarence Lee Tharp and Roxie Harris Tharp. He married Geraldine Frazier on April 19, 1956 in Abilene, Texas. He retired as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways- Teamster Local 745, formerly owned Industrial Park Mini Warehouses, Greenville Self Storage and Mazeland Business Center. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry Tharp of Greenville; son, Tommy Tharp and wife, Charlotte of Greenville; brother, Paul Kenneth Tharp and wife, Lavera of Winters; sisters-in-law, Joann Denning of Breckinridge and Charlene Bremmer of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Chasey Tharp and wife, Stephanie, Chelsea Hughes  and husband, Houston, Trey Honeycutt and wife, Melissa of Lone Oak; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Lynn Tharp.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Tharp, Chasey Tharp, Trey Honeycutt, Houston Hughes, Jim Wiskur, John Gregory, Rick Sutton, and Quincy Traylor.  

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas.
