Topper Joe of Quinlan, age 69 passed peacefully on September 8, 2022, in Greenville.
He was born on April 14, 1953, in Quinlan to Joe Edward Moffitt Sr. and Zelma Cathey Moffitt. Topper Joe attended Quinlan school and later became a landscaper and gardener. He was a very private man, loved collecting rocks from everywhere he went he also was a collector of antiques knives and guns. He enjoyed his time fishing, and spending time with his cousins, Deena Beth, Nicky and his cat, Miss Kitty.
Topper Joe is survived by sisters, Cynthia Sampson and husband David of Celeste, Jo Anna Brock of Quinlan, and Susan Evans and husband Darren of Quinlan; brother-in-law James (Sam) Robinson, addition to numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Zelma Moffitt, sisters, Darlene Moffitt Robinson, Judy Hardt, Linda Moffitt, Mary Ellen Moffitt, brothers, Tommy Joe Moffitt and Joe Edward Moffitt.
