Truitt Marcelle Coffman, 78, of Campbell, TX went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was born in Horton, TX on April 20, 1943, the son of Amos Andrew Coffman and Opal (Redman) Coffman. The family will receive friends at a visitation to take place Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Commerce Funeral Home in Commerce, TX. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Campbell, TX, with Rev. James Ralson officiating. Burial will follow at Brigham Cemetery.
Truitt graduated from Cooper High School and went on to attend East Texas State University for a time. Truitt worked at L-3 Communications until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Frances Arlene White on March 26, 1965. They enjoyed almost 58 happy years together before the Lord called Truitt home. Truitt was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many aspects of nature. He was a beekeeper, loved playing with Legos with his grandson, loved reading Louis L’Amour novels, and deer hunting. Many happy memories were made throughout the years that the family will cherish forever.
Left to cherish Truitt’s memory are his wife, Arlene; his children, Andy Coffman (Kim), Mark Coffman and his wife, and Britt Coffman; grandchildren, Racheal Coffman (Micah Elmore), Andrew Coffman, and Sarah Coffman; great grandchildren, Jenna Elmore, Easton Elmore, Grace Coffman, Ava Elmore, Jaxon Podsednik; brother, David Coffman; sisters, Myrtle Rogers, Suzie Littrell, Bennie Wisdom, Patricia Murray; his best friend, Jay Gilmer, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Truitt is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Opal Coffman; brothers, Donald Coffman and Doyle Coffman.
Serving as pallbearers for Truitt are: Jay Gilmer, Micah Elmore, Larry Coffman, Kevin Coffman, Andrew Coffman, and David Bauman.
