Wanda Thompson, 85, of Quinlan, passed away on August 31, 2019 in Quinlan. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., September 5, 2019 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Wieland Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Thompson was born December 24, 1933 in Caddo Mills, Texas to James Merchant Williams and Era Jewel Roberts. She married Charlie B. Thompson on June 20, 1964 in Quinlan, Texas. Her work history included Quinlan City Secretary, Temco, and Gift Shop Owner. Her greatest passion was being a teacher and an artist of oil painting. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Quinlan, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Thompson; son, Charles Thompson and wife, Shari of Rockwall; daughters, Vicki Noland and husband, Daniel of Fate and Sharon Royal and husband, Donald of Union Valley; sisters, Reatha Crow of Lone Oak and Margaret Langford of Van Alstyne ; grandchildren, Jason Erickson, Justin Royal, Christopher Royal, Jamie Royal, Connor Thompson and Rayce Thompson; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Erickson, Cade Erickson and Jack Erickson; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband, W. E. “Bo” Quattlebaum.
Pallbearers will be Jason Erickson, Justin Royal, Christopher Royal, Jamie Royal, Connor Thompson, and Rayce Thompson.
