William “Bill” Jerome Herring, lovingly known to his family as “Sug” 77, of Greenville, TX passed away on November 21, 2020. He was born on November 23, 1942 to William and Bessie (Chambers) Herring in Aliquippa, PN.
Bill attended Faith Outreach Church of Greenville. He worked as a parts manager. Bill was also a skilled singer, and in his spare time, he joined a singing group and they enjoyed performing gospel songs for others. After retiring he enjoyed tinkering with watches and clocks. He was skilled at taking them apart and repairing them. Many times he even gave these watches with heart felt love to precious friends or members of his family, even strangers he saw.
Most of all, Bill loved spending time with family and friends. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He will be remembered for being a very giving man. He leaves a host of loving relatives and friends who loved and cherished every moment with his smile and voice.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Dorine Herring;
children including, Julia Brown and Maurice Brown; grandchildren including Jordyn Brown, and Joseph Brown; brother, Manfred J. Herring and his wife Geraldine; sisters, Bernice Herring and Darlene Lampkin; sister-in-law, Corine Virden and her husband Del; mother-in-law, Alta Gates; numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Herring, sisters, Essie Coffman, Theresa Hunter, and Mary L. Sellars; brother, Howard D. Herring; and brother-in-law, Mack Lampkin and father in law, Alfard Gates.
