Lena Mai Richardson, a beloved homemaker, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on November 11, 1932, in Cooke County, Texas, Lena lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.

Lena’s heartwarming obituary tone reflects the tender memories and cherished moments that defined her life. Her journey began in Whitesboro Texas, where she was raised by her loving parents Rosalie and Homer Hampton.

In a testament to her nurturing spirit, Lena devoted her life to the caring role of a homemaker. Her proudest accomplishments were not found in degrees or career titles but in the love and warmth she provided for her family. Her dedication to creating a loving home was unwavering and touched the lives of all those around her.

Throughout her lifetime, Lena received numerous accolades that spoke to her impact on those she held dear. In 1984, she was honored with the City of Campbell’s Worthy Citizen Award, recognizing her exceptional contributions to the community. Additionally, Lena was bestowed with the Campbell ISD PTA Lifetime Award in 1980 for her unwavering support and commitment to education.

Her faith was an integral part of Lena’s life and foundation of who she was as an individual. She was a charter member of Fellow Baptist Church in Campbell and served as the WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) Outreach Chairman from 2002-2003. Her devotion to God not only inspired those within the church community but also served as an example of goodness and compassion.

Lena was predeceased by her husband M.K. Richardson, two infant daughters, one infant grandson, two brothers, and two sisters. Although their time together on this earth was too short, their memories remained etched in Lena’s heart.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Roberto Gudino, who were a source of love and support throughout her life. Lena’s legacy lives on through her son and daughter-in-law, John and Vicki Richardson, as well as her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Verlyne Richardson. Lena was immensely proud of her twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Their love brought immeasurable joy to Lena’s life, and they will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

The services to honor Lena Mai Richardson’s life will be held on January 23, 2024. A graveside service will take place at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, Texas. The service will begin at 2:00 PM officiated by Jon Nesbitt, allowing family and friends to gather together one last time to commemorate Lena’s remarkable journey. The cemetery’s serene surroundings will serve as a fitting place to bid farewell to this extraordinary woman who touched so many lives.

Lena Mai Richardson lived a life that exemplified love, kindness, and selflessness. Her impact on her family and community will continue to resonate for generations to come.
